With Apple Inc. opening up its AirPlay technology up for use by third parties, a plethora of vendors have been showing off products which take advantage of the wireless streaming technology.

At CES Unveiled in Las Vegas on Sunday, iHome was just one such vendor, showing off its audible wares, including its new iW1 speaker system which boasts wo three-inch woofers and two one-inch tweeters complete with Bongiovi audio processing.

Complete with a lithium-ion battery, the base charges the speakers, which can be picked up and moved to wherever a user wants them.

The firm was also showing off its bright pink retro boom box for iPhone/iPod, which comes with SRS TruBass digital signal processing, 5 band graphic equalizer with LCD display, five adjustable EQ sliders and is both AC/DC for portability.

iHome doesn’t just use Apple AirPlay, however. The firm has a whole host of Bluetooth compatible products which can work with any device.

With more and more personal devices making their way into the workplace, IT departments world over are having a difficult time managing employee data.

LG and VMWare have come up with a fix to solve the problem, however, showing off a demo at CES which would allow people to merge both their work and personal device into one phone, simply by partitioning the phone and sandboxing off the work part using virtualization software.

The partnership is focused on running virtual Android machines on a smartphone, allowing a company’s IT department full control over the work side of a device, while a user retains full control over their personal phone usage, including apps, email and internet browsing.

Both Verizon and Telefonica will be launching phones with the capabilities in the next few months, and if successful, it could mean that carrying two devices around becomes an unnecessary task of the past.

Interactive Toy Concepts was showing off its new "Wi-Spi" line of remote control video surveillance devices at CES Unveiled 2012 on Sunday (Jan 8) evening.

The firm was demoing two models, a helicopter and a race car, both of which can be remote controlled via a phone application to fly or drive around shooting live stream videos, which show up directly back on the user's phone and can be quickly uploaded to YouTube, Facebook and other social networks.

The car - aptly codenamed "the Intruder" - can sneak around filming secret footage replete with audio, while the helicopter can fly around and capture both video and still scenes furtively from above.

"It's perfect if you want to spy on your colleague in the next cube," a rep from the firm told us.

Both models will be available in the fall of 2012, with the Wi-Spi Helicopter costing $120 while the Intruder race car will cost $100.
